PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY DEFIES USA, WILL RAISE PAYMENTS TO SUICIDE BOMBERS' FAMILIES: In defiance of the USA, which is demanding that the Palestinian Authority completely stop financial rewards to families of terrorist “Martyrs” (Shahids), the PA is now raising the payments to the “Martyrs'” families. These PA payments include lifetime monthly allowances to families of suicide bombers, and other murderers who were killed during or after committing their crimes. After years of international condemnation of the PA, the United States Congress recently proposed The Taylor Force Act to cut off financial aid to the Palestinian Authority because of these payments to terrorists and their families. When Taylor Force, an American citizen, was murdered last year in Tel Aviv, American legislators were incensed to learn that the family members of the dead terrorist would be rewarded with lifetime payments - thus benefiting from American financial aid. Similar legislation was proposed in the Israeli parliament last month, to deduct the equivalent amount that the PA pays to terrorists and their families from the tax revenues that Israel collects on the PA’s behalf. The fallacy and the fantasy of the peace process fiction writers and the two-staters continue to explode in the face of reality and the religious motive behind the jihad against the Jews. (Geller Report) Intercede that this defiant move on the part of the Palestinian Authority will be severely penalized by withdrawal of all financial aid that comes from Western governments and their taxpayers.

PEACE NOT ON RADICAL ISLAM’S AGENDA: While absence of war is the dream of Western civilization, some creeds and religions are more interested in conquest and rule than they are in neighborly co-operation. While not giving up the dream of peace, it seems important to face the fact that Islamists do not have peace in mind in their ideologies and strategies concerning Israel or the West. Such peace, in fact, conflicts with the very root doctrines and laws of Islam: Sharia law, according to Islam, is the legal code ordained by Allah for all mankind. To violate Sharia or not to accept its authority is to commit rebellion against Allah, which Allah's faithful are required to combat. There is no separation between the religious and the political in Islam; rather Islam and Sharia constitute a comprehensive means of ordering society at every level. The stoning of adulterers, execution of apostates and blasphemers, subjugation of women, repression of other religions, and a mandatory hostility toward non-Islamic nations punctuated by regular warfare is the norm. Islamists have stated their hate ideologies and destructive goals loud and clear, privately and publicly. They have underscored their intentions toward Israel and the West with blood, suicide and the sacrifice of their own children to such creeds. Anyone who wishes to deny or even debate these statements must willfully blind and deafen themselves to the quotes, history, actions and patterns of a great bulk of Islamic representatives whether they be religious, political, military, or educational. (JNN) Intercede that Israel’s national leaders will never be coerced again into starting a false peace process with those who attempt to delude no one in their ultimate intentions to destroy the Jewish state. Israel has been pressured time and again by global entities into submitting to building freezes and the release of terrorist prisoners serving time in Israel jails - just to get the game of pretend peace going once again. May we not have to go around this mountain of lies once again.

NEW BOARD GAME IN GAZA BASED ON SNAKES AND LADDERS SEEKS TO ‘STRENGTHEN LOVE OF JIHAD’: A new board game called “Reaching Jerusalem” has been launched in Gaza, the goal of which is “to strengthen the love of jihad among children,” according to the founder of the game. The game is essentially a remake of the classic children’s game “Snakes and Ladders.” The objective is for players to advance on squares until they reach Jerusalem. The "ladders" that bring the players closer to the finish line are tunnels and Hamas-manufactured rockets, whereas the "snakes" that hinder their progress are IDF tanks and helicopters. The board is sprinkled with illustrations of Hamas fighters lying in wait for the enemy, attacking, and crawling through tunnels. During the course of the game, players stop off in cities found within the 1948 borders of Israel recognized by the UN, such as Tiberias, Ashdod, Akko, Haifa, Yaffo and Tzfat, where Arabs as well as Jews lived before the founding of Israel in 1948 and to where many of them demand to return and succeed in eliminating the Jewish presence.

Muhammad Ramadan Al-Amriti, who works at the Hamas Interior Ministry said, “The game 'Reaching Jerusalem' is an important component in the correct upbringing of our children in the near future. We created this game so that children do not forget their cities of origin, and also in order to strengthen the children's love of jihad. The goal of the game is to teach children that return to the homeland will be achieved only through resistance and jihad." He said that another purpose of the game is to help produce future leaders and decision-makers raised on the principles of the Islamic faith. 10,000 copies of the game have already been made, soon to be available in stores. (INN) “Their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they have not known, and there is no justice in their ways.”

PIERS MORGAN: ISIS WAR ON CHRISTIANITY ‘OUGHT TO BE DOMINATING CABLE NEWS’: Well known British journalist and television personality Piers Morgan, on 10 April 2017 criticized the American media for paying more attention to isolated terrorist attacks in Europe while ignoring the ISIS ongoing war on Christianity in the Middle East. Morgan lamented that “a handful of people being killed” in recent terrorist attacks in Stockholm and London have gotten “huge attention” in America, while coverage of suicide bombings on two Coptic Christian churches that killed dozens in Egypt on Palm Sunday 2017 appeared to be an afterthought. “And yet, what happened in Egypt was unbelievably significant,” Morgan said. “If you look at what ISIS really stands for, what they are carrying out now in the Middle East and in Egypt in particular, is a genocidal attack on Christians. They want Christianity eradicated, and they want to convert all Muslims to their crusade,” he said. “They want it to be a holy war. And they want Christians gone. And I don’t think that narrative is getting the attention it should get in the American media and, I have to say, in other media as well around the world.” (Washington Times) Urgent is the need for ongoing intercession for the plight of persecuted Christians in Islamist countries. Please pray for their cause to be taken up by the nations in terms of granting aid, justice and protection. Intercede for courage and comfort to be granted to those who suffer.

TRUMP: VLADIMIR PUTIN IS BACKING A TRULY ‘EVIL’ PERSON IN BASHAR ASSAD: “Putin is backing a person that’s truly an evil person and I think it’s very bad for Russia. I think it’s very bad for mankind,” USA President Trump said in a 12 April 2017 interview on Fox Business Network. “It’s very bad for this world. I think aligning yourself with Assad is a big mistake because he’s a butcher, and I think it’s very bad for Russia,” he said. “We’re not going into Syria, but I see people using horrible, horrible chemical weapons - which they agreed not to use under the Obama administration - but they violated it,” Trump said. “What I did should have been done by the Obama administration a long time before I did it. I think Syria would be a lot better off right now than it has been,” said Trump. (Washington Times)

REX TILLERSON: ASSAD ERA IS COMING TO AN END: USA Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on 11 April 2017, stated that Russia can either join the USA, or continue to side with Syrian President Assad, his Iranian allies, and terrorist group, Hezbollah. Tillerson said at a meeting of G-7 foreign ministers in Lucca, Italy, "We want to relieve the suffering of the Syrian people. Chemical weapons stockpiles and their continued use demonstrate that Russia has failed in its responsibility to deliver on its 2013 commitment. It is unclear whether Russia failed to take this obligation seriously or has been incompetent, but this distinction doesn't much matter to the dead." Speaking about the future, Tillerson said, "Russia can be a part of that future and play an important role. Or Russia can maintain its alliance with this group, which is not going to serve Russia’s interests longer-term. It is clear to all of us that the reign of the Assad family is coming to an end. But the question of how it ends, and the transition itself, could be very important to the durability and stability inside of a unified Syria. That’s why we are not presupposing how that occurs," he added. Attending the G-7 conference were foreign ministers from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the United States, as well as Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. Vladimir Putin said the following day that trust had eroded between the USA and Russia under President Trump, as Moscow delivered an unusually hostile reception to Secretary of State Tillerson in a face-off over Syria. Russian hopes that the Trump administration would herald less confrontational relations were reportedly dashed last week after the USA President ordered missiles to be fired at Syria to punish Moscow's ally for its use of poison gas. (INN/Reuters)

RUSSIA KNEW OF SYRIAN CHEMICAL ATTACK IN ADVANCE: A senior USA official, who demanded anonymity says the USA has concluded that Russia knew in advance of Syria's chemical weapons attack last week. The source says a Russian-operated drone flew over a hospital in Syria as victims of the attack were rushing to get treatment. Hours after the drone left, a Russian-made fighter jet bombed the hospital in what American officials believe was an attempt to cover up the usage of chemical weapons. Until 10 April 2017, USA officials had said they weren't sure if the drone was operated by Russia or Syria. The senior government source said it still wasn't clear who was flying the jet that bombed the hospital. He claimed that the presence of the drone couldn't have been a coincidence, and that Russia must have known the chemical weapons attack was coming and that victims were seeking treatment. (Fox)

A SWEDISH START-UP HAS STARTED IMPLANTING MICROCHIPS INTO ITS EMPLOYEES: Swedish startup hub Epicenter routinely offers to implant its workers and startup members with microchips the size of grains of rice that function as swipe cards: to open doors, operate printers, or buy smoothies with a wave of the hand. Ben Libberton, a microbiologist at Stockholm's Karolinska Institute, says hackers could conceivably gain huge swathes of information from embedded microchips. The ethical dilemmas will become bigger the more sophisticated the microchips become. "The data that you could possibly get from a chip that is embedded in your body is a lot different from the data that you can get from a smartphone," he says. "Conceptually you could get data about your health, you could get data about your whereabouts, how often you're working, how long you're working, if you're taking toilet breaks and things like that." Libberton said that if such data is collected, the big question remains of what happens to it, who uses it, and for what purpose. So far, Epicenter's group of cyborgs doesn't seem too concerned. The implants have become so popular that Epicenter workers stage monthly events where attendees have the option of being "chipped" for free. "You can do airline fares with it, you can also go to your local gym, so it basically replaces a lot of things you have other communication devices for, whether it be credit cards, or keys, or things like that. Chips can also be programmed to hold contact information and talk to smartphone apps," said Epicenter co-founder Patrick Mesterton. (CNBC)

EXPECTING ISIS ATTACK, ISRAEL CLOSES TABA CROSSING INTO EGYPT IN UNUSUAL MOVE: In a highly irregular move, the Transportation Ministry shut down the Taba Crossing to Israelis trying to enter Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on Monday 10 April 2017, citing fears of an imminent terror attack by ISIS. It is expected to reopen on 18 April 2017, with the end of the Passover holiday, but that decision will only be made following a security assessment, the Ministry said. Israelis currently in the Sinai Peninsula will still be able to return from Egypt and are, in fact, encouraged to do so immediately. Thousands of Israelis were expected to cross into the Sinai Peninsula for the Passover holiday. The decision to forbid that move comes a day after two lethal attacks on Egyptian churches by the ISIS terrorist group’s so-called Sinai Province. The closure was ordered by Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz, after discussion with Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman and other security officials. “This was an intelligence-security decision that was made in light of information that indicated plans to carry out a terror attack against tourists by the ISIS group’s Sinai Province,” Katz said. This was one of the few times the Taba Crossing was shut down since its opening in 1982, following the Israeli-Egyptian peace deal. The crossing was shut down in 2014, following a terror attack on the Egyptian side of the border. It was also closed in 2011 when Israel also assessed there was a high risk of terror attacks. (Times of Israel) Pray that Israelis vacationing in the Sinai will heed well-base Intelligence warnings to leave immediately. Often such alerts are ignored.

ROCKET ATTACKS SINAI ESHKOL REGION: A rocket fired from Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula struck a greenhouse in southern Israel on Monday morning 10 April 2017, police said. Though no one was injured by the rocket, a 50-year-old man who was nearby when it landed suffered an anxiety attack as a result of the assault. The plastic sheeting that served as the roof the greenhouse was damaged, but the structure remained standing. Just after 11:30 a.m., the incoming missile alarm known as a “Code Red” sounded in the Eshkol region, near Israel’s westernmost tip, at the border with Egypt and the Gaza Strip. After a search of the area, police found the rocket in the community of Yuval, near the Egyptian border, in a greenhouse where tomatoes were being grown. According to the IDF, the rocket was fired from the Sinai Peninsula, presumably by the ISIS terrorist group’s affiliate there. The attack came hours after Israel shut down the Taba Crossing into the Sinai Peninsula, citing information about an imminent terror attack in the area. (Times of Israel) Once again we call upon our intercessors to pray against terrorist attacks and violence against Israelis and tourists during the vulnerable week of Passover.

AL-SISI DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Sunday 9 April 2017, declared a three-month state of emergency following the two deadly bombings on Coptic churches. "A series of steps will be taken, most importantly, a state of emergency for three months," Sisi said in a speech aired on state television. Sisi also announced establishing a new council for combating terrorism and extremism. At least 44 people were killed in the two explosions on Sunday. The first explosion occurred in a church in Tanta, Egypt, when a terrorist blew himself up during a Palm Sunday ceremony. Less than 12 hours later, a second explosion occurred in an Alexandria, Egypt church. The ISIS jihadist group claimed responsibility for the two explosions. In late February 2017 ISIS issued a video message vowing to target Christians, particularly in Egypt, saying Christians were their “favorite prey”, while showing footage of a previous church bombing. (Arutz-7)

UN CONDEMNS EGYPT CHURCH ATTACKS: The UN Security Council on 9 April 2017, condemned the bombings of two Coptic Christian churches in Egypt, calling the attacks “heinous” and “cowardly”. In a statement, the council urged all member states to cooperate with the Egyptian government in bringing to justice the perpetrators of the attacks, which were claimed by ISIS. “They expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the government of Egypt and they wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured,” the statement said. “The members of the Security Council reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security,” it added. (INN) A TIMELINE OF RECENT ATTACKS ON EGYPT’S CHRISTIANS: Sunday's 9 April 2017, bombings of two Coptic churches in separate cities claimed by ISIS are the latest attacks on Egypt's embattled Christian minority, increasingly targeted by ISIS and affiliated terrorists. The Copts have long been a favored target of extremists but the past five months been particularly brutal. USA-based think tank the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy said the attacks brought the total number of incidents against Copts to 26 in 2017, with a total of 88 killed including those at a major church bombing in Dec. 2016. Following are major attacks against Egypt's Coptic Christians over the past year: 9 April 2017: Twin bombings hit churches in the coastal city of Alexandria and the Nile Delta city of Tanta. At least 43 people were killed and scores of worshipers injured on the Palm Sunday attack.

Feb. 2017: Hundreds of Egyptian Christians flee their homes in the northern part of the Sinai Peninsula, fearing attacks by ISIS terrorists. The group's North Sinai affiliate had killed at least seven Coptic Christians in the restive peninsula in less than a month. The ISIS group's affiliate in Egypt releases a video vowing to step up attacks against the Christian minority, describing them as their "favorite prey." It showcased a Dec. 2016 attack on the church adjacent to Cairo's Saint Mark's Cathedral, which claimed the lives of 30 worshipers. December 2016: A bombing at a chapel adjacent to Egypt's main Coptic Christian cathedral in Cairo claimed by ISIS kills 30 people and injuries dozens during Sunday Mass in one of the deadliest attacks carried out against the religious minority in recent memory. The high death toll serves as a grim reminder of the difficulties of Egypt's struggle to restore security and stability after nearly six years of turmoil. July 2016: Pope Tawadros II says that since 2013 there were 37 sectarian attacks on Christians in Egypt, nearly one incident a month. A Muslim mob stabs 27-year old Coptic Christian Fam Khalaf to death in the southern City of Minya over a personal feud. May 2016: A Muslim mob ransacks and torches seven Christian homes in Minya after rumor spread that a Christian man had an affair with a Muslim woman. The mother of the aforementioned man was stripped naked by the mob to humiliate her. (Fox) Intercede for God’s merciful protection to be on Egypt’s Christian community.

NETANYAHU LOBBYING FOR SYRIAN BUFFER ZONE AS RUSSIA REINFORCES SUPPORT FOR ASSAD: Israeli PM Netanyahu is lobbying for the creation of a secure buffer zone between Israel, Jordan and Syria as part of any future resolution to end the six-year Syrian Civil War. Netanyahu addressed the issue in recent talks with USA administration officials, as a means of maintaining regional stability by keeping Iran’s forces and the Iranian-sponsored terror group Hezbollah at a safe distance from Israeli territory. The prime minister insisted on the creation of a buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border, secured by forces other than those from the Jewish state. Netanyahu’s lobbying for the buffer zone comes after President Donald Trump’s surprise military strike on a Syrian airbase in response to the Assad regime’s chemical attack earlier this month, the latter killing at least 86 Syrians. Netanyahu expressed Israel’s full support for the USA strike. USA Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said on 9 April, 2017 that pushing Iranian influence out of Syria and removing Assad are now top priorities for the Trump administration. A coalition of Russian, Iranian and pro-Iranian forces loyal to Assad said that the USA strike crossed “red lines,” and that the coalition members would respond to any new aggression and increase their support for Assad’s regime. (Algemeiner)

‘WE NEED ANOTHER 100,000 SETTLERS IN THE GOLAN’: Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) spoke on 9 April 2017, about USA President Donald Trump's recent actions in Syria. Katz praised last week’s air strike as "moral and logical" and said it serves as a warning to Hezbollah and Iranian leadership. According to Katz, the strike shows a change in American policy, since former President Barack Obama left Israel to deal with evil on its own. The recent USA air strikes show this policy has changed. Katz also said the new policy would prevent Iran's military intelligence and expansion, both of which have cost Israel economically by forcing the country to invest resources into dealing with them. Israel must show its determination to keep control of the Golan Heights by sending another 100,000 citizens to settle it more efficiently, he concluded. (Arutz-7) About 47,000 people live on the Golan today, and how many of them are Jewish depends on which official body you ask. According to 2016 statistics, the spokeswoman for the Golan Regional Council said 25,200 Jews live in the area. But the Central Bureau of Statistics claimed Jews number 20,500. In any case, the statistics bureau says the Golan has the lowest population density of any region in Israel – 40 residents per square kilometer – even lower than in the Be’er Sheva-centered Southern District. The region, overlooking northern Israel and southern Syria, is strategic to the security of the Jewish state as it enables Israel to monitor Syrian movements. From 1948-67, when Syria controlled the Golan Heights, it used the area as a military stronghold from which its troops persistently sniped at Israeli civilians in the Hula Valley below, forcing children living on kibbutzim to sleep in bomb shelters. In addition, many roads in northern Israel could be crossed only after probing by mine-detection vehicles. Israel repeatedly, and unsuccessfully, protested the Syrian bombardments to the UN Mixed Armistice Commission, which was charged with policing the cease-fire, but nothing was done to stop Syria's aggression. Meanwhile, Israel was condemned by the UN when it retaliated. Pray for increased protection of Israel’s northern borders and steady population growth in this amazingly beautiful area.

VISION FOR ISRAEL 2017 PASSOVER GREETINGS: Passover, a seven day commemoration of the Jewish Exodus from Egypt, begins this year in Israel at sunset Monday, 10 April and concludes at nightfall on Monday 17 April. Families and friends across the country will gather in homes, halls and hotels to celebrate the annual Seder meal. Together the nation will recall in song and story the biblical deliverance, under the leadership of Moses, from the slave pits of Egypt, the ten plagues preceding it, and escapes from death because of the blood of the Passover lamb. Unleavened bread called matzos will be eaten throughout the holiday, and sweets made with matzo, corn and potato flour will accompany daily meals. Our Vision for Israel team extends warmest holiday greetings to our friends near and far. Please intercede throughout the week that this happy time will not be marred by terrorist attacks or Islamist violence against Israel. Pray that families and groups partaking of the Seder meal and recalling the exit from Egypt throughout the week will experience deeper revelations of the meaning of the Passover lamb.

RECORD-HIGH LEVELS OF TOURISM AS PASSOVER APPROACHES: According to the Israeli tourism ministry, Israel is seeing record-high levels in tourism on the eve of the Passover holiday. The ministry reported that in March 2017, 293,000 tourist entries were recorded - a 22% increase on March 2016. Similarly, in the three months January-March 2017, a record 739,000 tourist entries were recorded - a 24% increase on the same period last year. Tourism Minister Yariv Levin noted the developments, claiming that the record-high level of tourism was no accident. “For the past few consecutive months, we are witnessing record highs in incoming tourism and I am pleased that March is also a record month for tourist entries. This is not coincidence – this is a result of policy. We are implementing marketing activities and taking innovative steps to brand Israel and we are bringing new airlines and routes into the country – and all this is proving itself, month after month. This significant increase is making a significant contribution to the Israeli economy and to the labor market. Israel is an attractive and varied tourism destination and we are proving that if we work correctly, it is possible to bring tourists here. I am convinced that if we continue on this path, we will see significant increases in incoming tourism in the future.” (Arutz-7)

ISRAELI HOSPITALS TREAT THOUSANDS OF ARABS - WHERE’S THE MEDIA COVERAGE? No further evidence is necessary of the mainstream media’s anti-Israel bias than its total lack of coverage of the fact that Israeli hospitals routinely treat Arab patients from all over the Middle East. Instead, the media paints Israel as a bigoted society that only wishes ill on its Arab foes. A recent Israeli media report disclosed what’s going on at just one Israeli hospital. In cooperation with the Israeli NGO “Save a Child’s Heart,” Wolfson Medical Center in the central Israel town of Holon has treated thousands of Arabs in recent years. Most of the patients have been Palestinian Arab children in need of life-saving surgery, which is fully covered by “Save a Child’s Heart” and the Israeli taxpayers. Many other patients have come from war-torn Iraq. Others have from as far away as Afghanistan. In one instance, a princess from the emirate of Bahrain insisted on having critical surgery in Israel, insisting that only in the Jewish state would she receive the treatment needed to save her life. Isn’t that curious? After all, Israel’s antagonists suggest that an Arab who falls into the Jewish state’s hands is more likely than not to lose his life. They say Israel is a nation of “child-killers.” But here these Israelis are, not killing, but saving the lives of thousands of Arab children. And the media is silent. (Israel Today)

LIKUD MINISTER: ‘SYRIA STRIKE MADE USA REGIONAL LEADER ONCE AGAIN’: Adding to Israeli PM Netanyahu’s praises for the USA missile strikes on a Syrian army base, a senior cabinet minister said it “restored America’s regional leadership in a big way.” Yisrael Katz, Israel’s Transportation Minister and a member of the cabinet’s defense said, “There are things that only the number one superpower in the world can do.” In contrast to the failed policy of leading from behind, the United States has “restored America’s regional leadership in a big way in the Middle East.” Netanyahu praised President Donald Trump in a statement that said that Trump, “in both word and action,” had “sent a strong and clear message today that the use and spread of chemical weapons will not be tolerated. Israel fully supports President Trump’s decision.” Netanyahu added that he “hopes this message of resolve in the face of the Assad regime’s horrific actions will resonate not only in Damascus, but in Tehran, Pyongyang and elsewhere.” (JTA)

TRUMP EASED OBAMA’S FAILURE: In an article published on Israel Ha’yom's Hebrew website, Professor Eitan Gilboa said USA President Trump is changing America's foreign and security policy, especially when it comes to weapons of mass destruction: Trump said he would not tolerate the use of chemical weapons - and he didn't sit idly by when they were used, unlike his predecessor, Barack Obama - who made promises and then failed to fulfill them. Trump has erased Obama's failure, and set a new red line limiting the use of WMDs anywhere in the world. A few years late, Trump responded to Syrian President Assad's decision to cross several red lines. The USA attack was smart, fast, logical, and focused. It punished the site where the chemical weapons were launched from. Apparently, it was the result of efficient decision making, and the decision included several high-ranking and experienced generals. Despite the anti-Trump crowd's complaints that Trump acts hastily, this military strike was very well planned and careful. Trump sent a clear message to the international community in general, and to the Middle East in particular. Unlike Obama, who did not act as a leader of the free world, Trump did right and made order in the international community. Unlike Obama, who confused friends and enemies, Trump is rebuilding the USA' traditional ties and warning its enemies. Professor Gilboa is the head of the International Communications Center and a senior researcher at Bar Ilan University's Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Research. (Israel Ha’Yom)

WORLD LEADERS PRAISE STRIKE ON SYRIA, AS USA BRACES FOR RUSSIAN RESPONSE: A broad coalition of world leaders who for months criticized USA President Trump as an erratic force sang his praises over the weekend, grateful his administration chose to act where his predecessor would not in striking Syrian President Assad for his use of chemical weapons against innocents. But Russia, which remains Assad’s top patron and a critical player in the civil war against him, warned that USA action brought the two nuclear powers within “an inch” of war, and is said to be considering military steps that would escalate the conflict. Moscow says it will be increasing its missile and air defenses around Syria, suggesting that future USA strikes will not be tolerated. Russia also raised the specter of direct military confrontation with the USA. Stoking those fears, Moscow has officially shut down a “deconfliction” channel with Washington set up at Russia’s request in order to prevent midair clashes between Russian forces and USA-led coalition forces fighting ISIS. After an emergency defense intelligence briefing held for senators on Capitol Hill, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Connecticut) said there was reason for serious concern that Russia and Syria might retaliate against USA forces on the ground. “This move by Washington has dealt a serious blow to Russian- USA relations, which are already in a poor state,” President Vladimir Putin’s office said in a statement.” Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that Trump’s actions “significantly increased” the chances of direct conflict. (J.Post) It is not an overstatement to say that the situation in and surrounding the Syrian conflict is like a skyscraper filled with highly explosive materials surrounded by firebrands. Intercede against chemical and bomb attacks on Syrian civilians, pray that Assad will be removed and replaced by leaders that are merciful and sane, that ISIS will be overcome, and that Russian and Iranian forces will return to their own borders. Pray also for the safety of Israel northern borders.

TRUMP'S UN ENVOY: OUSTER OF ASSAD IS A TOP USA PRIORITY: USA Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said in an interview that she sees regime change in Syria as one of the Trump administration's priorities in the country wracked by civil war. "Defeating ISIS, pushing Iranian influence out of Syria, and the ouster of Syrian President Assad are priorities for Washington," Haley said in a weekend interview on CNN’s State of the Union. "We don’t see a peaceful Syria with Assad in there," Haley said. The comments followed a USA hit on a Syrian air base with 59 Tomahawk missiles. The American assault early Friday 7 April 2017, was in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack by Assad's forces on Syrian civilians. Trump ordered the missile strike after watching television images of infants suffering from chemical weapons injuries. Syrian forces launched further airstrikes on Saturday that killed 18 people including five children in rebel-controlled Idlib province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the civil defense rescue service reported. (J.Post)

25 PEOPLE SAID KILLED IN BOMB ATTACK ON CHURCH IN EGYPT, 42 VICTIMS INJURED: A bomb blast killed as many as 25 people in a church in the Nile Delta on Sunday 9 April 2017. Dozens of people were also injured in the explosion. The bombing occurred near the St. George Coptic Church north of Cairo, as Coptic Christians were marking Palm Sunday. ISIS is believed to be the perpetrator of the bomb assault. ISIS’s branch in Egypt, which has waged a conflict for years in the Sinai peninsula, has stepped up attacks on Christians in Egypt in recent months. A suicide bombing at Cairo's largest Coptic cathedral killed at least 25 people and wounded 49 others in Dec. 2016. Many of the victims were women and children. ISIS later claimed responsibility for the attack. A shift in ISIS tactics from attacking soldiers and police to targeting Christian civilians has become a potential turning point in a country trying to halt a provincial insurgency from spiraling into wider sectarian bloodshed. (Ynet) Intercede for those who have lost loved ones in this latest barbaric attack on a Christian place of worship. Pray for the recovery of those who have been injured and for the protection of the Christian Coptic community in Egypt whose people have been increasingly victimized by Islamist violence.

JNN URGENT UPDATE: USA MISSILE ATTACKS ON SYRIAN AIRFIELD FOLLOWING SYRIAN GOVERNMENT CHEMICAL ATTACKS ON CIVILIANS AND CHILDREN: On Tues. 4 April 2017 as many as 100 people, including at least 11 children, died from suffocation and an estimated 557 people were incapacitated following a toxic gas attack prompted by Syrian government forces. The brutal assault happened in the town of Khan Sheikhoun in Syria. Syrian government or Russian jets pounded Khan Sheikhoun in the morning, and a rocket hit in the afternoon. The projectile struck a hospital, bringing down rubble on top of medics who were trying to help victims. Doctors treating victims at makeshift hospitals in the area say dozens of victims from Khan Sheikhoun showed signs of sarin poisoning, including foaming at the mouth, breathing difficulties and limp bodies. The death toll is likely to rise according to sources. In response to the chemical attack, five dozen American Tomahawk missiles were fired from the Mediterranean Sea at Syria's al-Shayrat airfield in the early hours of Friday morning, 7 April 2017. (J.Post) JNN editors will continue to keep readers updated on this Middle East turn of events. Please intercede for the innocent civilians, including many children, along with medical officials who have been incapacitated and injured in the latest brutal chemical attack on the part of the Syrian government. Pray for help, comfort and recovery.

TRUMP STRIKES ASSAD IN DRAMATIC TURNING POINT IN SYRIAN CIVIL WAR: Five dozen American Tomahawk missiles were fired from the Mediterranean Sea at Syria's al-Shayrat airfield on Friday morning, 7 April 2017, fundamentally changing the dynamics of Syria's protracted and bloody civil war. USA President Donald Trump ordered the Pentagon to strike an airbase that played host to the very planes which on Tues.4 April 2017, laid chemical siege to a civilian town in Idlib province, killing close to a hundred people and incapacitating an additional 557 victims. Trump's operation was an unprecedented American assault against the embattled government of Syrian President Assad. Trump was deeply disturbed by the images of innocent children killed in Assad's attack and was compelled to respond, he told the American people in an evening address. "Babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack. No child of God should ever suffer such horror," Trump said. "Tonight I ordered a targeted military strike on the airfield in Syria from where the chemical attack was launched. It is in this vital national security interest of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons. Assad choked out the lives of helpless men, women and children," he said, withholding comment on his future plans to strike Assad.

Robert Satloff, executive director of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, said, "The most significant implication of tonight’s attack is that it signals a fundamental shift in USA policy from the Obama to the Trump administration. The White House did not seem interested in reaching some diplomatic resolution of this incident even using the threat of force to elicit some political gain but rather appeared committed to sending a message that such heinous behavior will be punished - unilaterally by USA action. This marks a huge course correction for USA policy toward Russia under the Trump administration," Satloff added, "and in terms of Iran, marks the first substantive example of the USA pushing back at Iran’s long reach for influence throughout the Middle East." (J.Post) Intercede that the USA’s message to Syria’s brutal regime will establish proof that harsh actions will taken against those perpetrating heinous acts of murder, torture, terrorism and mayhem in the Middle east. May Iran, the Hezbollah and all other terrorist entities take heed.

TRUMP: ‘ALL PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS TO CHANGE ASSAD’S BEHAVIOR HAVE FAILED’: "Numerous previous attempts at changing Syrian President Assad’s behavior have all failed dramatically. As a result, the refugee crisis continues to deepen and the region continues to destabilize, threatening the United States and its allies," USA President Trump said in a televised speech addressing the nation on America’s military strike on Syria. "Tonight I call on all civilized nations to join us in seeking to end the slaughter and bloodshed in Syrian and also to end terrorism of all kinds and all types. We asked for God’s wisdom as we face the challenge of our very troubled world." Trump consulted America's allies before conducting the strike, according to senior officials. Assad operates six airfields in the country, five of which remain operable after Friday's 7 April 2017 attack. This military development puts Assad’s regime in unexpected peril, dependent on Trump's next steps. Should Trump proceed with future strikes, he would be challenging both the Syrian regime as well as Moscow, which has invested significant resources in propping up Damascus. Trump may choose to proceed with additional attacks targeting more Syrian airfields, or may alternatively choose to escalate the conflict, targeting Syria's broader military infrastructure. (J.Post)

ISRAEL PRAISES USA MISSILE ATTACK ON SYRIA: Israel’s prime minister has welcomed the USA attack on a Syrian air base saying he “fully supports” President Trump’s decision. PM Netanyahu said on Friday 7 April 2017: “In both word and action Trump sent a strong and clear message that the use and spread of chemical weapons will not be tolerated.” Israel’s Channel 2 TV said Israel along with other allies was notified about the USA strike. The attacks in neighboring Syria have worried Israel, which has warned against “game-changing” weapons reaching Hezbollah in Lebanon from Syria, which supports the terrorist group. Last month Israel shot down an anti-aircraft missile fired at its planes as they struck a suspected Hezbollah weapons convoy. Israel also has treated several thousand Syrians wounded in fighting and provided humanitarian aid to some Syrian communities near the Israeli frontier in the Golan Heights. (Washington Times)

RUSSIA, IRAN CONDEMN USA AIR STRIKE IN SYRIA AS BRITAIN, TURKEY GIVE SUPPORT: Russia and Iran condemned a USA strike on a Syrian airbase on Friday 7 April 2017, as Australia, Britain and Turkey gave their support, with Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull calling it a "proportionate" response to the use of chemical weapons. Russian President Vladimir Putin claims the strikes broke international law and seriously damaged USA-Russia relations. Likewise Iran’s Foreign Ministry denounced what it called the “destructive and dangerous” strike. Meanwhile, Britain gave its backing to the USA strike: "The U.K. government fully supports the USA action, which we believe was an appropriate response to the barbaric chemical weapons attack launched by the Syrian regime and is intended to deter further attacks," a government spokesman said. Turkey viewed the strikes positively and Deputy PM Numan Kurtulmus said the international community should sustain its stance against the "barbarity" of the Syrian government. He added that Assad's government must be fully punished in the international arena and the peace process in Syria needed to be accelerated. French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said Russia and Iran needed to understand that supporting Assad made no sense and that the escalation of the USA military role in Syria was a "warning" to "a criminal regime". (Reuters)

LIBERMAN: ‘THE CHEMICAL WEAPONS ATTACK WAS CARRIED OUT AT ASSAD’S BIDDING’: Israel's Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman addressed this week’s chemical weapons massacre in Syria’s Idlib province. Liberman said that “the murderous chemical weapons attacks on civilians in the Idlib region in Syria and on the local hospital were carried out by direct and premeditated order of Syrian President Bashar Assad, with Syrian planes. I say this with 100 percent certainty. The cruelest thing,” he added, “is that those who were evacuated from the area of the bombing to the hospital were struck a second time with chemical weapons as Syrian army planes attacked the hospital. Assad tried in the past to obtain nuclear weapons through North Korea, and the other ‘masters’ in the area like Hezbollah and Nasrallah are no different than he is.” Liberman added: “What we have here is people who are cannibals. When they ask me why there isn’t peace in the Middle East it’s like asking if a cannibal can be a vegetarian. The word ‘peace’ is not relevant to the Middle East. We can come to regional arrangements, but not to peace." (Arutz-7)

‘HOW MANY MORE CHILDREN HAVE TO DIE BEFORE RUSSIA CARES?’ USA Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley slammed Russia's continued support for Syrian President Assad at the UN Security Council on 5 April 2017, following chemical weapons attack in Syria. "Yesterday morning we awoke to pictures of children foaming at the mouth, suffering convulsions, being carried in the arms of desperate parents," Haley said in a speech to the Security Council. "We cannot close our eyes to these pictures, we cannot close our minds to the responsibility to act." She said that world powers had tried to hold the Assad regime responsible for its crimes against its own people, but Russia stood in the way of this accountability. "How many more children have to die before Russia cares?” she asked. She added that the failure to stop the carnage in Syria is an indictment of the failure of the UN to protect innocents. "There are times in the life of states that we are compelled to take our own action. We regularly repeat efforts in support of a peace process that is regularly undermined by the Assad regime,” she said. “If we’re not able to enforce resolutions preventing use of chemical weapons what does that say for our chance of ending the broader conflict in Syria? What does that say of our ability to bring relief to the Syrian people? If we are not able to enforce resolutions preventing the use of chemical weapons what does that say about our effectiveness in this institution?” (Arutz-7)

PENTAGON MEMO: SYRIA HAS ‘RIDICULOUSLY HUGE’ STOCKPILE OF SARIN GAS: Syria produced a “ridiculously huge amount” of deadly sarin gas, says an internal Defense Department memo written amid the Obama administration’s effort to remove and destroy all the country’s chemical weapons. That stockpile, which Obama aides declared was reduced to zero by summer 2014, is again in the headlines. President Trump on 5 April 2017, accused Syrian President Assad of once again committing mass murder against his own people by unleashing sarin gas on a town in Idlib province, killing dozens of innocents. His words raise the question, where did the sarin come from? An intelligence official said, that at this point, the USA does not know. “Our incompetence did not get all of Assad’s chemical weapons,” said James Dolbow, a former Republican Senate defense aide. It was Assad’s brutal use of sarin in August 2013 that prompted then president Obama to plan airstrikes on a wide number of Syrian military targets. The raids were averted when Russian President Vladimir Putin, an Assad protector, intervened and proposed that Syrian voluntarily give up its chemical weapons.

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says Russia has “failed” in its responsibility to deliver on a 2013 commitment to secure Syria’s chemical weapons. Tillerson briefed reporters shortly after the USA launched cruise missiles against a Syrian air base in retaliation for a gruesome chemical weapons attack. The secretary says Russia has either been complicit or “simply incompetent” in failing to deliver on its end of the agreement. Tillerson will make the first visit to Russia by a Trump administration official just days after the USA launched cruise missiles against an air base in Syria, where Russia’s military is on the ground propping up its ally, President Bashar Assad. Until the 7 April 2017 attack, the USA had avoided striking Assad’s forces, largely out of concern about being pulled into a military conflict with Russia. Growing disagreements about Syria are just the latest obstacle to any plans President Trump had to closer align the USA and Russia on the world stage. (Washington Times) “Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies.” Ps. 5:9

ISRAEL DECLARES MULTILAYERED AIR DEFENSES FULLY OPERATIONAL: The David's Sling missile defense system became fully operational on Sunday 2 April 2017, completing Israel's multilayered air defenses amid tensions on its northern and southern borders. Developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and American defense giant Raytheon, David's Sling is designed to intercept medium- to long-range rockets and cruise missiles fired at ranges from 24.85 miles to 186.41 miles. It is part of Israel's four-tiered air defense system, alongside Iron Dome, designed to intercept and destroy short-range rockets and artillery shells, the Arrow 2 short- and medium-range ballistic missile interceptor, and the Arrow 3 long-range missile defense system. Speaking at the system's induction ceremony on Sunday, Netanyahu noted that defending the homefront was of the "utmost importance," and warned that "whoever seeks to strike us will be hit. We have pioneering technology, and Israel continues to lead the world in this field. The ingenuity of our people and the fighting spirit of our soldiers multiply our strength against our enemies and enable us not only to defend the homefront but to achieve victory in battle. But despite the importance that I attribute to our defensive capabilities, I reiterate: Whoever seeks to strike us will be hit. Anyone who threatens our existence places themselves in existential danger. This approach has ancient origins. Not far from here is the Elah Valley, where David defeated Goliath with his sling. King David defended the people of Israel against its enemies 3,000 years ago. He did so with a combination of extraordinary daring and extraordinary ingenuity. We recognize the age-old adage, 'Those who dare, win.'” (Israel Hayom)

USA: NO UN RESOLUTIONS ON ISRAEL UNTIL PA RESUMES TALKS: United States Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said, Mon. 3 April 2017 that the USA will not allow UN resolutions to be adopted on the Israeli-Palestinian Authority conflict as long as the PA does not return to the negotiating table. Haley said that since it's the USA’s turn to be president of the Security Council, the council's monthly discussion on the Middle East Council, to be held in two and a half weeks, will not focus on Israel. Instead, the discussion will revolve around issues such as Iran’s support for terrorism, the Syrian crisis, Hezbollah and Hamas among others," Haley explained. “So much has been put towards Israel and the Palestinian authority and not enough has been put towards some of these other issues,” she said. Haley had come out strongly against the United Nation’s anti-Israel bias just after her first Security Council meeting in Feb. 2017 saying the USA will no longer tolerate this. (J.Post/INN) Ambassador Haley is doing a superb joy at combating UN anti-Israel bias. Pray for her continued success at doing so and for her protection against the entities that are and will be pitted against her.

JEWISH GROUP URGES UNESCO TO REJECT ANTISEMITIC QATARI CANDIDATE FOR UNESCO DIRECTOR- GENERAL: UNESCO should reject the candidacy of former Qatari minister of culture Hamad bin Idealizes Al-Kawari for its director- general, Simon Wiesenthal Center’s European Office has said. Al-Kawari is one of nine candidates under consideration to replace Irina Bokova, who has headed the organization since 2009. On 31 March 2017, Shimon Samuels, international relations director at the Wiesenthal Center, wrote to UNESCO’s Executive Board chairman Michael Worbs, saying that when Al-Kawari was culture minister, Qatar sold texts at the Frankfurt Book fair that “fomented” conspiracy theories against Jews. “Mr. Chairperson, he who apparently endorses the language of the Nazi minister of propaganda Joseph Goebbels must not head the intellectual arm of the United Nations. We expect you to advise the Executive Board accordingly,” said Samuels. He added that Qatar supported UN resolutions on Jerusalem that ignored Jewish ties to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall. UNESCO’s executive board will interview all the candidates in Paris in late April 2017. A secret ballot will be held at its October 2017 meeting. Another secret ballot to affirm the nomination will be held at the body’s general conference in November 2017. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization was established in large part to focus on preserving cultural heritage sites around the world. But the Palestinian Authority and the Arab states have pushed anti-Israel resolutions at its board and committee meetings, turning them into diplomatic battle grounds for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (J.Post) Intercede that a candidate favorably disposed towards the Jewish state will be voted in as director-general of UNESCO. This UN organization is a major battle front in winning the war against UN anti-Israel bias.

UN AGENCY TO RELEASE NEW DOCUMENT EQUATING ISRAELI 'OCCUPATION' TO USA SLAVERY: Less than a month after its executive-secretary resigned over a controversial report describing Israel as an “apartheid regime,” the UN’s Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia is writing another report, this time equating “50 years of Israeli occupation” to the United States’ history of slavery. The UN Conference on Trade and Development is also said to be collaborating with ESCWA on the report. The document's publication is expected to symbolically coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Six Day War in June 2017. The agency’s last report caused much controversy, stating that “Israel has established an apartheid regime that dominates the Palestinian people as a whole.” It angered Israeli officials, who compared it to Der Sturmer – a Nazi propaganda publication that was strongly anti-Semitic. “The attempt by UN bodies to publish such defamatory reports are reprehensible and can be described only as a disgusting perversion of the truth,” said Israel’s UN Ambassador Danny Danon. “We have made it clear that we will stand strong and demand that such libelous publications not see the light of day.” (Breitbart)

LONDONISTAN: 500 CLOSED CHURCHES, 423 NEW MOSQUES: The city of London now has 423 new mosques, which are "built on the sad ruins of English Christianity." So writes Italian journalist and writer, Giulio Meotti. The Hyatt United Church, for instance, on Hamilton Road, was purchased by the Egyptian community and is being converted into a mosque. St Peter's Church is now the Madina Mosque, and the Brick Lane Mosque used to be a Methodist church. Not only buildings are converted, writes Meotti, but also people: "The number of converts to Islam in London has doubled; often they embrace radical Islam, as with Khalid Masood, the terrorist who struck Westminster. Given the current trends," he predicts, "Christianity in England is becoming a relic, while Islam will be the religion of the future." It is estimated that by 2020, the number of Muslims attending prayers will top the number of Christians attending weekly Mass, 683,000 to 679,000. Within a generation, the number of churchgoers will be three times lower than that of Muslims who go regularly to mosque on Friday. Demographically, Britain has been acquiring an increasingly Islamic face in many cities. Birmingham, England's 2nd largest city, has a population that is 21.8% Muslim; Manchester, stands at 15.8% Muslim, and Bradford, with well over 300,000 people, is a quarter Muslim, including half its children. In Leicester, too, Britain's 10th largest city, half the children are Muslim. (Arutz-7)

JEWISH PARENTS PULL SON FROM BERLIN SCHOOL OVER ANTI-SEMITISM: Allegations of anti-Semitic harassment of a Jewish student in Germany that forced him to leave his school have spurred demands for a federal investigation by Germany’s top Jewish leader. The student’s parents said they pulled their 14-year-old son from the Friedenauer Community School in March 2017, after four months of verbal and physical harassment, culminating in a brutal attack. The parents said the harassment came from students of Arab and Turkish background. In March, according to the parents, “he was attacked and almost strangled, and one of the pupils pulled a toy gun on him that looked like a real gun. And the whole crowd of kids laughed. He was completely shaken.” Early on, when some pupils learned the boy was Jewish, one who had been friendly told him they couldn’t be friends anymore because “Jews are all murderers.” Josef Schuster, head of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, demanded on 3 April 2017 that the education ministry investigate the incident and the response of the school, and state clearly where any failings might be. The school leadership said on its website that the alleged perpetrators in the incident would be held accountable. The boy has been enrolled in an English-language high school. (Arutz-7)

ISRAAID HELPS PERU REBUILD AFTER FLOODS: The Israeli NGO IsraAID is helping teachers in Peru prepare to reopen their schools after more than two weeks of flooding and mudslides that have devastated areas of the country. "One of our biggest concerns is water access," said Naama Gorodischer, IsraAID programs director and head of the mission to Peru. The IsraAID team is offering water purification solutions. (J.Post)

THE DEAD SEA GETS NEW LIFE : On a recent sunny morning Tourism Minister Yariv Levin led a cavalcade of Segways down the picturesque coastline of the Dead Sea in a wondrous, juxtaposition between the past and present. Nestled by the Judean Desert’s breathtaking canyons, with sweeping views of Jordan across the sea, Levin, several architects, and members of the press slowly traversed a new 3 km.-long stone promenade, featuring dozens of canopies, showers, and elegant beaches. Following several years of planning and a NIS 200 million ($55m) investment, Levin traveled to the Ein Bokek resort from Jerusalem for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially unveil the new and unprecedented attraction. Considered by many to be the eighth wonder of the world, on Mon. 3 April 2017, the Dead Sea hosted a burgeoning hotel development and vacation resort.

“We invested hundreds of millions of shekels here, and we’re going to continue this investment in order to not just expand the beaches, but to promote the building of new hotels and commercial centers,” said Levin. “What is important is to provide tourists an overall experience that includes the beach, the sea, great hotels, excellent restaurants and attractions with many things to do, so I believe that coming here will be an unbelievable, unique experience – especially for those who know it from the past.” Indeed, Levin – who commissioned world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie to develop a sprawling master plan stretching 13 kilometers and including some 30 hotels, restaurants and public space – said he is banking on turning the Dead Sea into a world-class resort. “I urge everyone, Israelis and foreigners, to come to the Dead Sea,” he said. “They won’t regret it, and the truth is that they won’t even be able to believe it.” (J.Post) Israel’s expansion and beautification of the dead sea coast line is exciting news for both Israelis and tourists. Pray, however, for the restoration of water levels in the Dead Sea Estimates say this body of water is on pace to dry out by 2050. To save the Dead Sea, Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Territories together with the World Bank have agreed to create what is being dubbed the "peace canal." Saltwater from the Red Sea is to be pumped into a desalination plant in the Jordanian coastal town of Aqaba and turned into fresh water. The remaining salt brine is to be pumped through a 180-kilometer pipeline into the Dead Sea.

JNN News Update April 4, 2017

JERUSALEM POLICE ON HIGH ALERT AHEAD OF PASSOVER HOLIDAY: Israel’s defense establishment believes terrorist groups will try to strike over Passover, and security forces have been placed on high alert nationwide. The Jerusalem District Police on Sunday 2 April 2017, declared high alert across the capital, which will be in effect throughout the Passover holiday, beginning on 10 April, 2017. The decision followed a terrorist attack in the Old City of Jerusalem the previous day, when a Palestinian terrorist stabbed two youths and tried to stab a border policeman. The terrorist attempted to flee the scene and was killed after a short clash with Border Police. Both victims of the terrorist attack were released from hospital on Sunday morning with no major injuries. Security forces' deployment in Jerusalem has been steadily increased since the onset of the wave of terrorism in the fall of 2015. While police operations are routinely stepped-up during the holidays, recent security tensions warrant unusually heightened vigilance. Jerusalem District Police Commander Maj. Gen. Yoram Halevy said, "The escalation is definitely something we must prepare for with additional manpower and be much more vigilant about, even though we've managed to thwart the majority of incidents that took place this past year, and will continue to do so." He suggested that anyone seeking to fan the flames and prevent people from visiting Jerusalem "think twice." (Israel Hayom) Intercede against terrorist attacks threatened over the Passover holiday throughout Israel - and especially in Jerusalem and surrounding areas.

PA MEDIA BOASTS: 93 ATTACKS IN ONE MONTH: The Palestinian Arab Al-Intifada website on Sunday 2 April 2017, published new statistical data regarding the “Al-Quds Intifada”, the name used by Palestinian Arab terrorist groups to describe the wave of violent attacks against Israelis which began in Oct. of 2015. According to the report, the number of terrorists killed during the “intifada” reached 298 as of the end of March 2017, and Israel still holds the bodies of seven terrorists. 93 attacks were carried out during the month of March 2017 in what the terrorists consider “occupied Palestinian territories”, according to the website. Among those, there were seven shooting attacks, three cold-weapon attacks, one car-ramming attack and more than 69 attacks on soldiers and "settlers", including throwing firebombs and pipe bombs that caused injuries to 39 “settlers”. As well, the website reported of clashes in 292 points of friction with Israeli security forces in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, as well as in other parts of Israel and Gaza, in which 138 Palestinians were injured. (Arutz-7)

PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY TEXTBOOKS TEACH PUPILS TO BE EXPENDABLE ‘MARTYRS’: The latest Palestinian Authority elementary school textbooks are even more radical than previous editions, according to a report just issued by the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education. The report was based on examination of elementary- school grades one through four and high-school grades 11 and 12 of the 2016-2017 PA’s educational curriculum. The new textbooks showed deterioration in messages of tolerance and peace compared to previous editions. They teach pupils to become expendable martyrs and reject negotiations, while demonizing and denying the existence of the State of Israel, according to the findings. As such, the report concluded that the curriculum does not meet the UNESCO-derived standards of peace and tolerance in education. (J.Post)

HOW PALESTINIANS PREPARE THEIR CHILDREN FOR PEACE WITH ISRAEL: PA television broadcasts, even for tiny children, call for destruction of the Jews; promote Holocaust Denial and glorify terrorism. Hatred of Israel is rampant in PA school textbooks. Taking a realistic view at what is at the heart of the Palestinian people and their leaders in terms of future peaceful co-existence with Israel; one must examine what is being taught to the next generation. It has been long been known PA school textbooks lack any positive information regarding Israel. School maps do not even indicate Israel exists. In 12th grade textbooks, the PA teaches its young people to deny the Holocaust. In addition, both old and new materials are directed at educating PA Arab children toward Jewish genocide, embracing jihadism, and are opposed to forwarding peaceful co-existence with Israel. Text books refer to the founding of the Jewish State as a “catastrophe unprecedented in history.” PA history books while including detailed information of World War II make no mention of the Holocaust or the Jews. It must also be remembered PA Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas considered to be a moderate force in the camp of Israel haters, in his doctoral dissertation written in 1982, denied documented facts about the Holocaust. One would almost have to will to be deceived to buy into the lie that Fatah, or the PA society as a whole are desirous of, or planning toward a future peace with Israel. (JNN) Please pray for the good news of Yeshua to penetrate through Muslim strongholds – He is the only hope for peace.

HAMAS THREATENS TO TARGET ISRAELI OFFICIALS: The Islamist Hamas terrorist organization ruling in the Gaza Strip released a new video threatening to target Israeli security officials in retribution for the assassination of senior Hamas official Mazan Fukha, who Hamas says was killed by Israel. In the video, Hamas leader Khaled Mashal says “We accept the challenge” as targets are placed on a series of Israeli officials including Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Army Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, as well as the heads of the Shin Bet and the Mossad. After all the faces are shown, the video ends with the warning, "The type of retribution will be in accordance to the act. The enemy uprooted one of our heroes in Gaza.” Israel does not comment publicly on the assassinations of Hamas officials. Meanwhile, a Palestinian who was convicted in the lynching death of two Israeli army reservists who accidentally entered the city of Ramallah, which is administered by the Palestinian Authority, was days ago released following a retrial and new evidence which made positive identification difficult. Haitham Muari had requested a retrial and pled guilty to lesser charges. He was taken from the Ofer Prison in Judea & Samaria to a checkpoint in the Gaza Strip as part of his plea deal. (Media Line) Pray for the protection of Israel’s government and intelligence agency leaders from terrorist attacks and threatened Hamas revenge.

HAMAS ARRESTS SUSPECTED COLLABORATORS WITH ISRAEL: In the wake of the assassination of senior Hamas official Mazan Fukha, Hamas has vowed it will do more to stop Palestinians collaborating with Israel. The organization has locked down the Gaza Strip since last month’s killing, prohibiting anyone to enter or exit Gaza except for urgent humanitarian cases. Hamas further announced over the weekend that the group has arrested several Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israel. The suspects are facing charges of treason and aiding and abetting the enemy in wartime. A Hamas spokesman said that the Gaza Prosecutor's Office plans to file charges against anyone who violates a gag order that has been put in place over the investigation into Fukha's death. He stressed that violating the gag order was akin to treason, as it essentially helped Israel, meaning that anyone charged over the issue could face the death penalty. Fukha was released from prison in Israel as part of a prisoner exchange for captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. After his release, Fukha began managing Hamas activities from Gaza. (Israel Hayom)

UPDATED HAMAS CHARTER STILL DOESN’T RECOGNIZE ISRAEL: A Hamas political document leaked on 2 April 2017 reveals plans to soften the group's charter so that it recognizes a Palestinian state along the pre-1967 borders, but still does not recognize Israel. It is due to be officially released in the coming days by Hamas leader and politburo chief Khaled Mashaal. Hamas officials said that the group would release the document as part of its efforts to help its standing in relation to the international community and Arab countries, chiefly Egypt. “It is possible to agree to a state within the 1967 borders, but it does not necessarily include recognition of Israel and does not mean that there is a relinquishment of historic Palestine,” the new charter states. The document will also make clear that Hamas is an independent organization not tied to the Muslim Brotherhood. This declaration is expected to help Hamas it in its contacts with the Egyptian authorities who are demanding that Hamas be fully disconnected from the Muslim Brotherhood, which is blacklisted as a terrorist organization in Egypt. Hamas has been working to improve ties with Egypt that have been strained under President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. Cairo has accused Hamas of being involved in terrorist attacks in the Sinai, most of which have been carried out by the Sinai Province, which is the ISIS affiliate in Egypt. Hamas denies the accusations. (Arutz-7)

THE COUNTERFEIT ARABS: THERE IS NO "HISTORIC" PALESTINE: There is no such thing as a Palestinian people; no such thing as a Palestinian history; and no Palestinian language exists. There has never been any independent, sovereign Palestinian state in all of recorded history – let alone an Arab independent state of Palestine. You will search in vain for Palestinian Arab coinage or Palestinian Arab archaeological artifacts specifically related to any Palestinian Arab king or ancient leader. But what you will find are coins, pottery, ancient scrolls, all providing conclusive, empirical and millennial evidence of Jewish civilization dotting the land known correctly as Israel – not Palestine. The present-day so-called “Palestinians” are an Arab people sharing an overwhelmingly Muslim Arab culture, ethnicity and language identical to their fellow Arabs in the Middle East and North Africa, with few if any distinctions.

Yasser Arafat, the arch-terrorist, who imposed himself undemocratically upon the Arabs who call themselves Palestinians, was fond of repeating the absurd myth that Palestinian Arabs were descended from the Canaanites and the Philistines. As we know, the bigger the lie, the bigger the number of people will believe it. And so Arafat twisted history in order to disinherit the indigenous native people of the land: the Jews. The term “Philistines” provides the source from which the term “Palestinians” is derived. Like the Arabs who gave themselves the concocted name “Palestinian,” the Philistines were alien peoples who entered the land from the Mediterranean isles. That is why they were also known as the Sea People. The modern “Palestinian Arabs” are primarily the descendants of itinerant Arabs who illegally flooded British Mandatory Palestine from Arab territories as far away as Sudan, Egypt, Syria and what was Mesopotamia (modern Iraq). They were attracted during the early decades of the 20th century by new employment opportunities provided by the Jewish pioneers, whose heroic efforts were turning the desert green again and restoring centuries of neglect that the land had endured under a succession of alien occupiers. ARAB COUNTRIES POSSIBLY SOFTENING THEIR ATTEMPTS TO HURT ISRAEL IN UNESCO: Arab countries are possibly softening their attempts to hurt Israel in UNESCO. A resolution which is supposed to go up for vote in the organization at the beginning of May 2017, and which has been unofficially distributed, reveals a significant diplomatic breakthrough on the part of the Israeli Foreign Ministry on one of the toughest fronts Israel faces in the UN. After a series of resolutions which attempted to erase the connection of the Jewish people to the holy places in Jerusalem and to present those places as holy to Muslims only, Arab countries have decided to take a step back on the sensitive issue affecting Jews worldwide. The new resolution, which will go up for a vote in the course of a meeting on “Jerusalem, Gaza and Judea and Samaria,” has cut out significant portions of anti-Israel content existing in previous resolutions. In the past two weeks, a concerted effort by the Foreign Ministry and the delegation in Paris has taken place to soften the resolution, while, during the moments leading up to the vote, PM Netanyahu himself is expected to lead the diplomatic struggle.

Israel’s Ambassador to UNESCO, Carmel Shama Hacohen, said that “when we’re talking about anti-Israel resolutions spearheaded by Arab countries, you only count your accomplishments when you’re leaving the building after the vote. It’s better to get a draft of the resolution which doesn’t directly harm our claims to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall, which are the heart of the Jewish people, but neither do we intend to sit quietly when they stab us in other places, even if they are less sensitive.” He added that “the State of Israel has decided to put an end to the obsession and incitement within international organizations, even if it takes years - and until then, to raise the price that initiators and participants in anti-Israel activity pay. There is no doubt that, with the new administration in Washington headed by President Trump and Ambassador Haley, the goal which, until recently, appeared to be a fantasy has become an achievable one. In any event,” he concluded, “we will work in the coming month around the world and around the clock to continue and explain the truth, of today and of history, and we will expect - but won’t build upon - the reasonableness of our neighbors.” (Arutz-7) Intercede that this new resolution will indeed be passed at the beginning of May 2017, erasing, (not just softening), the absurd lie that Jews have no connection to the holy places in Jerusalem, rather only the Muslims.

A BRIEF REVIEW: UNESCO DENIES JEWISH CONNECTION TO THE OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM: In spite of God’s word, and thousands of years of Jewish history connected to Jerusalem, in a blasphemous move in Oct. 2016, UNESCO passed a Palestinian-backed measure that denies a Jewish connection to the Old City of Jerusalem. UNESCO, the UN body charged with protecting humanity’s cultural treasures called Israel an “occupying power” in its own capital of Jerusalem, ignoring deep Jewish ties to the Temple Mount. The resolution shunned the term “Temple Mount” in favor of its Palestinian name and demanded that Israel rescind its control over access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which stands on the Temple Mount. The USA and some European nations fought the resolution but were easily outnumbered by Russia, China and Middle Eastern and developing nations. Opponents were also hindered by two dozen countries that refused to vote at all, delivering victory to Israel’s critics in committee.

For more than 3,000 years, Jerusalem has played a central role in the history of the Jews, culturally, politically, and spiritually, a role first documented in the Scriptures. All through the 2,000 years of the diaspora, Jews have called Jerusalem their ancestral home. Jews in prayer always turn toward Jerusalem. When Muslims pray, they face Mecca. The Old Testament mentions "Jerusalem" 349 times. "Zion," another name for Jerusalem, is mentioned 108 times but Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran. As pointed out by an Israel Today commentator: The manipulation of UNESCO by the Israel-haters is a warning to the world that the Palestinian goal isn't really a fair-minded two-state resolution, but rather to deny Jewish rights and history and ultimately force the Jews out of Jerusalem. This effort demonstrates that Palestinian opposition to coexistence is a far bigger obstacle to peace than anything Israel has done. For most Israelis, the major sticking point of the peace process is the Arabs’ refusal to accept that the Jewish people have a history, and therefore a legitimate claim, in this region. The Palestinian Authority, which submitted the resolution, was greatly pleased by last year’s UNESCO vote. (Israel Today/JNN)

PM ORDERS FOREIGN MINISTRY TO CUT $2 MILLION FOR UN FUNDING AFTER HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL PASSES ANTI-ISRAEL MOTION: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the Foreign Ministry to cut $2 million from Israel's payments to the UN, in light of the hostile proposals adopted by the UN Human Rights Council last week. This amount will be used to deepen and expand Israeli projects in the field of international assistance, and will be invested in developing countries that support Israel in international institutions. This decision is part of Israel's campaign, in conjunction with allies such as the USA, to correct the obsessive focus of the UN and its agencies on condemning Israel and the discrimination in the world body against the only Jewish state. The UN human Rights Council passed a resolution urging countries to boycott the Jewish communities of Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem. (INN) Continue to pray that widespread exposure and harsh penalties will be leveled against the UN, on the part of Israel and its allies, until UN anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias is a thing of the past.

ISRAEL’S UN AMBASSADOR HOLDS ANTI-BDS CONFERENCE: Over 2,000 representatives from various organizations, as well as pro-Israel activists, diplomats and students filled the UN General Assembly Hall in New York City for a conference on 29 March 2017 against the boycott, divestment and sanction (BDS) movement. Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon, who convened the conference, opened the event by saying: "The halls of the UN are now being infiltrated by the boycott movement. The UN’s Human Rights Council is creating a blacklist of companies and corporations operating in parts of Israel. This is pure anti-Semitism and together with the USA, our greatest ally, we will keep fighting until BDS is eliminated." USA Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley was the keynote speaker at the conference. "The effort to delegitimize the state of Israel being waged on college campuses and the anti-Israel obsession at the UN are one in the same. They both seek to deny Israel’s right to exist. They are both efforts to intimidate her friends and embolden her enemies. They are both extensions of an ancient hatred," Ambassador Haley said. "And how tragic is it that, of all the countries in the world to condemn for human rights violations, these voices choose to single out Israel. Iran, Syria, North Korea and other barbaric regimes are excused by the BDS movement. It makes no sense. And it has no connection to any reasonable definition of justice,” the American ambassador concluded. (Arutz-7)

DAVID FRIEDMAN SWORN-IN AS USA AMBASSADOR TO ISRAEL: Outspoken lawyer David Friedman was sworn-in at the USA Ambassador to Israel on 29 March 2017 in Washington, D.C. Friedman has been aligned with the Israeli right and was narrowly confirmed by the USA Senate by a vote of 52-46. Vice President Mike Pence, who spoke before swearing in Friedman as Ambassador to Israel, said that President Donald Trump is a lifelong friend of Israel and the Jewish people, and under his leadership, if the world knows nothing else, the world will know this: America stands with Israel. Pence then told Friedman, “You were literally born for this job. It’s because of families like yours that the Jewish people are such a beautiful thread and fabric of this nation.” Friedman favors moving the USA embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The relocation is strongly opposed by many USA allies because both Israel and the Palestinians claim the city as their capital. (J.Post/INN)

SENATE PASSES BILL TO LET STATES STRIP FUNDING FROM PLANNED PARENTHOOD: Congress approved a bill on 30 March 2017 that will let states strip federal funds from Planned Parenthood, as Republicans flexed their control of Washington and launched their first successful strike in years against the country’s largest abortion network. Democrats vowed political retributions, saying women who are already anxious over the GOP’s agenda will bristle at what they see as an assault on their health care choices. But for Republicans, the vote set them up for their first success after years of trying to dent Planned Parenthood. The bill passed on a 51-50 vote with Vice President Mike Pence, a longtime pro-life leader, breaking the tie. (Washington Times) Continue to intercede that this demonic organization, Planned Parenthood, will be stripped of all government funding and completely closed down.

HAMAS ACQUIRED HEAVY SHORT-RANGE ROCKETS, ISRAELIS FEAR PASSOVER MASSACRE: Hamas has acquired dozens of heavy, short-range rockets, intended for attacking Israeli civilian communities near the Gaza border, media sources reported on 29 March 2017. Despite their short range – a mere six miles – their massive load of explosives would enable these rockets to inflict significant damage on their targets come the next confrontation with Israel. The new weapons have been developed based on the Hamas lessons from the 2014 Gaza war, when the bulk of their mid-range rockets were blocked by Israel's Iron Dome system over larger civilian centers, but the same system was useless against their short-range mortar shells, one of which killed a three-year-old Israeli toddler on the last day of the war. The IDF and defense apparatus are aware of this new strategy and are preparing to evacuate the civilian population in the communities alongside the Gaza Strip border – should the government give the word. Israeli social media have been warning of such an attack to take place over Passover. Tamir Idan, head of Sdot Negev Regional Council, has said that this is very serious, adding that he is in constant contact with the IDF over these threats. (Jewish Press) Intercede that Israel’s soon coming Passover holidays will not be marred by terrorist attacks in any part of the country. Pray for angelic protection upon Israel’s southern borders and that Jewish communities in this area will be kept from fear.

TEL AVIV’S TRASH IS BEING TURNED INTO FUEL: Residents of Tel Aviv can start feeling a little less guilty about the amount of garbage they throw away. Just a short drive from the city, a new waste collection plant has begun processing the trash from an endless stream of garbage trucks, turning much of it into fuel for a nearby factory. The owners say it is the largest plant of its kind in the world. The terminal creates what is known as Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), handling about 1,500 tons of trash a day, or about half the trash produced by 1.5 million residents of Tel Aviv and its suburbs. Recyclables like paper and metals are separated out and the rest is mostly turned into small bits of dry, high energy RDF that is sent to Israel's main cement factory, where it is burned instead of a less environment-friendly fossil fuel, petroleum coke. AFTER SEVEN YEAR BREAK, ISRAEL AND NICARAGUA RE-ESTABLISH TIES: Israel and Nicaragua announced on 29 March 2017 the re-establishment of diplomatic ties, some seven years after Managua broke off relations because of the Mavi Marmara incident. The joint statement read that the two countries had friendly relations and cooperation across a wide range of areas such as agriculture, health and education until the ties were suspended in 2010 following Israel’s raid on the Turkish Mavi Marmara ship that was trying to break the blockade of Gaza. Nine people were killed in that incident. Relations between Israel and Nicaragua were severed following Israel's refusal to comply with Nicaraguan demands on the matter. Nicaragua is known for its alliance with Iran, which in the past established a Hezbollah terrorist training base in northern Nicaragua. It has also previously expressed support for the Palestinian Authority. Since Nicaragua severed ties, it has joined Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba as among Israel's most strident critics in Latin America. The Foreign Ministry said that the re-establishment of ties follows contacts that have taken place over the last year. “Both governments view very positively the re-establishment of ties with the goal of advancing joint cooperation for the advancement of both nations and to contribute to the struggle to achieve peace in the world,” said the joint statement released this week. (J.Post/INN) Pray for Israel’s renewed ties and increasingly good relationships with formerly estranged nations.

ETHIOPIAN - ISRAELI ACTIVIST: ANYONE WHO SAYS JEWISH STATE IS AN APARTHEID COUNTRY DOESN’T KNOW WHAT APARTHEID MEANS: “If someone says Israel is an apartheid country, they don’t know what apartheid means,” an Ethiopian-Israeli activist said on 27 March 2017. “For example, an apartheid state does not appoint two Ethiopian-Israeli women to become judges,” said Fentahun Assefa-Dawit - the executive director of the Tebeka legal aid group - referring to Adenko Sebhat-Haimovich and Esther Tapeta Gardi. In an interview on the sidelines of the American Israeli Public Affairs conference in Washington DC, Assefa-Dawit - whose NGO’s mission is to promote justice and equality for Ethiopian-Israelis – stated, “Like AIPAC strengthens Israel from the outside, we’re doing it from the inside. Absolutely, progress is being made,” he said. “Like any other country, there is discrimination in Israel and there are many challenges that different groups face. But unlike many other countries, Israel tries to sit down and solve these problems. From the top down, starting with the prime minister, everybody is cooperating to resolve these issues. Approximately 140,000 Ethiopian Jews live in Israel, comprising around 1.7% of the country’s population. “Israel is our home and it’s like in a family - we can fight and then come together and fix the problem,” Assefa-Dawit said. “Those outside the country who use our issues to bash Israel don’t know what they are talking about. They’ve probably never been to Israel or spoken to an Ethiopian-Israeli.” In an interview last year, Ethiopian-Israeli beauty queen Yityish Aynaw said the world must learn about how “unique and diverse” the Jewish state is. JOURNALIST CHANGES OPINION DURING FACT FINDING TRIP TO ISRAEL: A Canadian journalist, Faith Goldy, came to Israel with a set belief regarding the political situation between the Jewish state and her neighbors. Her trip started out as a fact-finding mission but developed into myth-busting when she discovered that what is portrayed by the mainstream media was not the reality she saw on the ground. Goldy came with a team of three other journalists at the beginning of March 2017. Each member of the team recorded their findings on video clips. Goldy admitted that she arrived in the country as a firm supporter of the “two-state solution,” but during her travels she had the opportunity to interview people from the broad political and demographic spectrum on both sides of the geographical border and as a result, her views and perspective changed dramatically.

As a Catholic who takes her religion seriously, Goldy did some figurative digging to discover what Israel is really like. After seven days investigating in both Israel and the Palestinian Authority, she said that coming with an open mind was really important. She said that while asking the hard questions, she discovered that Israel is a free democracy with full civil rights for women and minorities – even the 20 percent Arab minority. Having heard and believed that Israel was an apartheid state, she was shocked to find there is nothing of the sort on the Israeli side of the security fence (which she discovered is 95% fence and 5% wall) and in actuality the apartheid that does happen is on the Palestinian Authority’s side of the border. The journalist was most surprised to find that Bethlehem is almost devoid of Christians and is a Muslim town ruled by Muslims. She said that religious apartheid is alive and well; and the Pact of Umar which dictates restrictive regulations on non-Muslims – especially Christians – is fully enforced. Her conclusion is that the only solution for the ongoing conflict is a one-state solution under the full authority of Israel which she praised. (Kehila News)

‘ISRAEL’S ECONOMY DOING WELL, WITHOUT A DOUBT’: The Bank of Israel Annual Report for 2016 was published on Wed. 29 March 2017, after it was presented to President Reuven Rivlin, PM Binyamin Netanyahu, and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon. According to the report, Israel's economy is growing, employment rose by 2.6%, and its unemployment rate is low, providing a stable foundation for economical reforms which will allow continued growth to all sectors of Israeli society, and especially the weaker sectors which the Knesset is trying to strengthen. The report also said Israel's real estate market is dealing well with the challenges, and that the construction industry, which requires foreign workers, had found a way to import foreign companies and workers in a productive fashion.

"The state of Israel’s economy is, without a doubt, good," Rivlin said. "The government finished 2016 with a deficit significantly lower than the deficit ceiling set out in the budget. The bottom line of the Bank of Israel’s Annual Report is that the Israeli economy is showing signs of strength relative to other economies, and came through the global crisis well. At the same time, not everything is roses. There are a number of weak points in the Israeli economy, and we must therefore monitor economic processes closely as we move forward, improve and lead. I believe in the importance of maintaining the independence of the central bank, whether in setting monetary policy, as economic advisor to the government, or in supervising the stability of the financial system. I would like to thank you, Madam Governor, and you, the Bank of Israel’s staff, for this important and comprehensive report. Well done!” (Arutz-7)

RECORD EUROPE SALES PUSH ISRAELI DEFENSE EXPORTS TO $6.5 BILLION IN 2016: Sales to Europe have increased over the last four years; Asia remains a top customer with total of $2.6 billion in exports. Israeli military exports grew to $6.5 billion in 2016, an increase of $800 million compared with the year before, according to Sibat, the military exports unit of the Defense Ministry. Sibat chief Michel Ben-Baruch said while Asia remains Israel’s biggest market for military technologies, Europe has become a key buyer too, notably for counter-terrorism, border defense and infiltration prevention. Israeli defense exports to Europe have been climbing for four years, with particularly strong sales in the last two. Exports to Europe reached an all-time high in 2016. Sources in Israel’s defense world think the increase in sales to Europe was driven chiefly by terror attacks on the continent, and also by European armies' participation in the fight against ISIS. European countries are also hoping Israel can help them contend with lone-wolf attackers. “When they come to Israel, they only care about three things: terrorism, borders and cyber,” said an Israel Defense Forces General Staff officer on collaboration with foreign armies. (Ha’aretz)

NEW POLL: SUPPORT AMONG ISRAELI JEWS FOR JUDEA & SAMARIA PULLOUT, ESTABLISHMENT OF PALESTINIAN STATE DECREASING: Support among the Israeli Jewish public for a withdrawal from Judea & Samaria and the establishment of a Palestinian state is decreasing, a new poll published on 27 March 2017 revealed. The poll conducted on behalf of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA) - found that only 36% of Israeli Jews back a pullout from Judea & Samaria as part of a peace agreement with the Palestinians, compared to 60% in 2005. Also, support for the “Clinton Parameters” - described as a “demilitarized Palestinian state without settlement blocs, full Palestinian security control of Judea & Samaria, Jerusalem divided and the capital of both states, the Temple Mount in the hands of the Palestinians, while Israel receives the Western Wall” - has dropped to 29%, from 59% in 2005. When it comes to the question of the future status of Jerusalem, 79% of Israeli Jews believe it is “important to retain a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty,” according to the poll. ‘TRUMP COULD BE REGISTERED IN HISTORY BOOKS’: Israel’s Education Minister Naftali Bennett spoke at the AIPAC conference in Washington this week and called on President Trump to transfer the American embassy to Jerusalem, "the capital of the Jewish nation for over 3000 years." Bennett said that "nearly 70 years ago President Truman made history when he became the first president to recognize the State of Israel. President Trump could be registered in the history books as the first president to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. President Trump, please move the embassy to Jerusalem." Bennett also addressed the USA administration and said "we want you to be the first nation to transfer its embassy to Jerusalem," and added that Israel could deal with the repercussions of the move whatever they would be. "Embassies are always located in the capital city and our capital is Jerusalem- not Tel Aviv," concluded Bennett. (INN) “Thus says the Lord: ‘I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain.’” Zech 8:3

230 NEW UKRAINIAN IMMIGRANTS LAND IN ISRAEL: 230 Ukrainian immigrants landed in Israel's Ben Gurion Airport on 28 March 2017. The immigrants received a warm greeting from Immigration and Absorption Minister Sofa Landver. Of the 78 families, most will settle in the north and center of Israel. Four of the immigrants are Holocaust survivors, and over 40 more are children. Some of these immigrants come from war-torn areas of the Ukraine, after having lived several years as refugees. (Arutz-7) Pray for these new arrivals to feel welcome, to have their housing needs met, to find friends and jobs and to learn Hebrew quickly.

JNN News Update March 29, 2017

WORLD SHRUGS AS HEZBOLLAH PREPARES MASSIVE CIVILIAN DEATHS: Lebanon has made the Hezbollah terrorist group, whose rocket launchers are in homes and villages, part of its official army, making it responsible for civilian deaths on both sides should war erupt. Where is the UN? Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah recently warned Israel that his Iran-backed terror group could attack targets producing mass Israeli casualties, including a huge ammonia storage tank in Haifa, and a nuclear reactor in Dimona. Also last month, sources reported that since the beginning of the Syrian civil war, Iran has provided Hezbollah with a vast supply of “game-changing,” state-of-the art weapons, despite Israel’s occasional airstrikes against weapons convoys. In a future conflict, Hezbollah has the capacity to fire 1,500 rockets into Israel each day. Should such a scenario materialize, Israel will be forced to respond with unprecedented firepower to defend its own civilians. Hezbollah’s advanced weapons reportedly are embedded across a staggering 10,000 locations in the heart of more than 200 civilian towns and villages. The Israeli military has openly warned about this Hezbollah war crime and the grave threats it poses to both sides, but that alarm has generated almost no attention from the global media, the UN, or other international institutions.

Hezbollah’s very presence in southern Lebanon is a flagrant violation of UN Security Council resolution 1701, which called for the area to be a zone “free of any armed personnel, assets and weapons” other than the Lebanese military and the UN Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The resolution also required Hezbollah to be disarmed, but the terror group today has an arsenal that rivals that of most armies. Hezbollah possesses an estimated 140,000 missiles and rockets, and reportedly now can manufacture advanced weapons in underground factories that are impervious to aerial attack. “Israel must stress again and again, before it happens, that these villages [storing Hezbollah weapons] have become military posts, and are therefore legitimate targets,” said Yoram Schweitzer, senior research fellow at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies. But even a concerted campaign to showcase Hezbollah’s war preparation is unlikely to change things, said Eyal Zisser, a senior research fellow at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies. Hezbollah exploits the fact that “the international community is too busy and weak to do something about it,” Zisser said. All of “these talks and reports have no meaning. See what is happening in Syria.” (Arutz-7) Pray that Israel will be prepared with effective strategies - and alliances that can be trusted - to deflate the Iran-backed Hezbollah that sits on Israel’s northern borders.

FATAH: RECRUIT TENS OF THOUSANDS TO FIGHT ISRAEL: In an article published by the Palestinian Authority daily Al Quds, Fatah official Abbas Zaki called on the terror organization to "recruit tens of thousands Fatah activists to rise up against Israel." PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is also a Fatah member. According to Zaki, if Fatah recruits members and begins another uprising (intifada) against Israel, the other terror organizations will act similarly, and Fatah will be returned to the leadership position it held in 1967, when it returned "the Arabs' national hope" by means of "revolutionary acts." In his article, Zaki wrote, "The sword continues to be aimed, and the gun continues to precede the olive leaf." He also called on Arab officials to continue their attempts to harm Israel in international courts. "We need to do something concrete to integrate tens of thousands of Fatah activists into our civilian uprising against the settlers and the occupation's forces," Zaki wrote. "The numbers of these activists will immediately double, when other national and Islamist organizations join them, together with civilians of our great nation. This is because what binds us is the fight against Israel, and not the dialogue with Israel, which has already lost its efficiency in every way." Zaki also called on Fatah activists to "close off the roads leading to towns in Judea & Samaria, in order to push Israeli forces out of the Palestinian Authority's territory." In fact, while Jews are not allowed to enter Arab villages - and would lose their lives if they did - Arabs often enter Jewish villages to murder residents and set fire to buildings. (INN)

ISRAELIS WARNED OF INCREASED ISIS THREAT ABROAD AHEAD OF PASSOVER HOLIDAY: Leading into the Passover and summer travel seasons, Israel has raised travel warnings to the highest level, cautioning Israelis against traveling to Egypt's Sinai region. Counter-Terrorism Bureau Chief, Eitan Ben David, said on 27 March 2017 that “the threat has grown and is the gravest level of threat. Attacks on the Egyptian military, on Coptic Christians, ISIS rockets fired at Eilat and videos from ISIS against Israelis show the high motivation and power of terror groups there to attack Israelis," said Ben David. While Sinai has the highest level of warning at level one of four, other countries also have high warning levels – with Turkey at level two (without special heightened warning for merely stopping over in Turkey’s airport) and Jordan along with Egypt at level three. Level one signals “a very high concrete threat” with advice to avoid any travel to a destination and leave immediately. Level two means “a high concrete threat” with advice to avoid travel to a destination and leave as early as possible. Level three means “a basic-level concrete threat” with advice to avoid travel to a destination. Ben David emphasized that they did not disregard threats from Iran, Hezbollah or others, but that in general the increased threat stemmed mainly from ISIS-related groups. (J.Post)

FORMER BRITISH PM TONY BLAIR: IF IRANIAN REGIME WERE BENIGN, ALL PROBLEMS IN THE MIDDLE EAST WOULD BE RESOLVABLE: “If you had a benign regime in Iran, all of the problems in the Middle East would be resolvable,” ex-British PM Tony Blair said on 26 March 2017. Speaking at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s conference in Washington, DC, Blair called for a tough line against the Islamic Republic. “We have to push back hard,” Blair said. “Iran is involved in some fashion in numerous conflicts throughout the Middle East. It provides funding and weapons to the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, as well as to the Houthi rebels in Yemen, and controls the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon. Iran is also a key ally of Assad and has supported his regime militarily in the Syrian civil war which has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Blair - a former Mideast Quartet envoy – said that a “new way forward” was needed. “We’re not going to reach peace in the old way. The key to transforming the Middle East is to have relationship between Israelis and Arabs which can be open, acknowledged, in which Israel’s existence is accepted and Israel works closely with Arab states. What I would like to see is a new alliance in the Middle East - a strategic partnership with the leadership of the USA, in which we say this is what the battle in the Middle East is about. It’s against extremism, in favor of respect across boundaries, race, faith and culture,” said Blair. (Algemeiner)

PENCE REVIVES TALK OF EMBASSY MOVE; AMBASSADOR DERMER: NO DAYLIGHT BETWEEN USA AND ISRAEL: Following a series of apparent down-grades in the priority and timing for fulfilling a campaign promise to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Vice President Mike Pence revived the issue when he told the annual assemblage of the American pro-Israel lobby that President Trump is “giving serious consideration” to the move. The actual move is one of the most contentious acts potentially on the table in terms of the expected reaction from the Arab world, the Palestinians and even most of the Western nations. But for the pro-Israel community worldwide, the act of moving the embassy would infer at long last recognition of Israeli sovereignty over its capital. Supporters of the Jewish state rile at the refusal by the USA and other nations to recognize even west Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. Former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and President Donald Trump all promised to move the embassy as one of their first acts in office, but none did. Despite such promises by candidate Trump and his spokesmen, the move was downgraded from an action to occur on the first day to “we’re looking at it.” Pence’s comment has re-ignited both hope on the part of the pro-Israel community and anger on the part of the pro-Palestinian world. It came after Israeli Ambassador to the USA Ron Dermer assured the assemblage that after “decades, there is no longer any light between the governments of the United States and Israel.” (Media Line)

EVERY 83 SECONDS: ANTI-SEMITIC POST UPLOADED TO SOCIAL MEDIA: Over the course of 2016, a World Jewish Congress survey finds, more than 382,000 anti-Semitic posts - an average of one post every 83 seconds - were uploaded to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, blogs and other social media forums. “We knew that anti-Semitism online was on the rise, but the numbers revealed in this report give us concrete data as to how alarming the situation really is,” World Jewish Congress Executive Vice President Robert R. Singer said. “We hope this serves as a wake-up call to all internet forums to rid themselves of offensive content, and make the digital world a safer place for all.” The WJC research analyzed tens of millions of posts in 20 languages on various social media. After Twitter, the highest number of anti-Semitic posts online can be found on blogs, at 16%. 11% of anti-Semitic content online was posted to Facebook, followed by Instagram with 6%, YouTube with 2%, and 2% on other forums. (INN) Please pray that continued exposure of social media forums that circulate this kind of hate material will be widespread – to be followed by harsh penalties for those who refuse to remove offensive posts and incitement.

‘BDS THE MOST SERIOUS THREAT TO ISRAEL’: Former Canadian prime minister, Stephen Harper, on 26 March 2017, addressed the 2017 AIPAC policy conference and discussed his support for Israel during his time in office. “What is the difference between our values and Israel’s? None. What is the difference in the threats we face? The only difference is that Israel is much closer to these threats than we are,” Harper said. “We have one choice: We stand by Israel and we stand against those threats or we watch those threats come to our own shores,” he continued. One of the biggest threats to Israel today, opined Harper, is Iran becoming a nuclear power. “I think it’s important to do everything in our power to stop that fanatical regime from obtaining nuclear weapons,” he said. But the most serious threat to Israel is the BDS movement, he continued. “The BDS movement is about translating the old ideology of anti-Semitism into something acceptable to a new generation. The BDS movement, in calling for the boycott, sanctions and divestment in Israel, in having Jewish students harassed – is revealing its realities,” said Harper. “It is incumbent on all of us to be as vocal and as loud in our denunciations of BDS as we can possibly be,” he added. (Arutz-7)

ARKANSAS LEGISLATURE PASSES ANTI-BDS LEGISLATION: The Arkansas state legislature has passed a law that prohibits state agencies from contracting with or investing in companies that boycott Israel. The law was sent to Arkansas State Gov. William Hutchinson on 24 March 2017 for his signature. “Israel and Arkansas are great friends, and I thank the people of Arkansas for supporting this essential relationship, which is based on shared values,” said Josh Block, president and CEO of The Israel Project. “By passing this bill today, Arkansans are standing strong against discrimination, and are solidly on the right side of history.” More than a dozen USA states have passed similar legislation. (Arutz-7) Another victory for those who are interceding and taking stands in high places against the BDS movement that hopes to discredit and destroy the Jewish state. Please keep praying for a complete victory against Palestinian-backed BDS efforts on university campuses, in business and industry, cultural circles and every place where it rears its ugly head. May it be outlawed in every state in the USA.

UNHRC DIRECTS COUNTRIES TO AVOID TIES WITH ‘SETTLEMENTS’: The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Friday 24 March 2017, adopted four resolutions on the Israeli-Palestinian Authority (PA) conflict, including a motion condemning Israel for its construction in Judea, Samaria, eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. The last motion calls on states and firms to avoid both direct and indirect ties with the “settlements”. The resolution also calls to refrain from providing Israel with any assistance that could be connected to the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, as well as to avoid trade with them. 36 member states voted in favor of the resolution criticizing Israeli construction, including Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, China, India, Japan, South Africa, Nigeria and Brazil. Nine states abstained: UK, Latvia, Croatia, Albania, Georgia, Hungry, Panama, Paraguay and Ruanda. Only two countries – the USA and Togo – opposed the resolution.

While Britain abstained from the resolution rather than vote against it, it did issue a harshly worded statement putting the UNHRC “on notice” over its anti-Israel bias. The Israeli ambassador to the UN institutions in Geneva, Aviva Raz Shechter, criticized all the resolutions at Friday’s session as one-sided and called out the Council for its "absurdity" and "cynicism." "Again and again we ask: where is the sense of priority of the HRC? Where is its moral compass?" she said. “Absurdity reaches yet again new heights in the Golan Resolution. The Syrian regime is killing its own people and for the last six years the country is torn apart by a bloody civil war. This Council still votes on this ridiculous resolution," said Shechter. (INN) Intercessors please pray, also in your groups and gatherings, that both the UK and the United States will defund and cease to stand with this repeatedly and blatantly anti-Israel global organization.

AFTER LONDON TERROR ATTACK, UK BLASTS UNHRC ANTI-ISRAEL BIAS: The United Kingdom blasted the United Nations Human Rights Council for its biased treatment of Israel and for failing to condemn Palestinian terrorism in a strongly worded speech it delivered in Geneva on 24 March 2017. “Today we are putting the Human Rights Council on notice,” UK Ambassador Julian Braithwaite told the UNHRC as it wrapped up its 34th session. He spoke just after the 47 member UNHRC had approved four resolutions that condemned Israeli actions against the Palestinians and one that called on it to return the Golan Heights to Syria. The UK supported two of the resolutions, abstained on another two, and voted against the one with regard to the Golan Heights. Out of a similar concern with regard to bias, the USA, traditionally has been the only country to consistently vote against all UNHRC resolutions that involve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Golan Heights. In this session, the USA and Togo, voted against those texts. But Braithwaite warned that it would follow the USA in rejecting all resolutions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, if the UNHRC did not treat Israel proportionally. In this session out of the 10 condemnations issue against individual countries, five were leveled at Israel. Braithwaite statement came just two days after a terrorist attack in London claimed the lives of five people, including the assailant. (J.Post)

SAY WHAT?! UN HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL DECLARES ISRAEL WORLD’S NO. 1 HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATOR: According to the UN's top human rights body, Israel is the worst human rights violator in the world today. That’s the result of the latest session of the UN Human Rights Council which wrapped up in Geneva on 24 March 2017, by adopting five times more resolutions condemning Israel than any other country on earth. If President Trump were to choose a swift departure from the Council as one of his very first foreign policy moves, it would demonstrate a principled reset of American values and priorities on the world stage. The reasons for leaving are many. Here are a few: The Council plays a leading role in the demonization and delegitimization of the Jewish state by the United Nations. In its history, the Council has condemned Israel more often than any other of the 192 UN states. Comparative totals after this session’s pogrom tell the story: Israel – 78 resolutions and decisions, Syria – 29, North Korea – 9, and Iran – 6. As for Saudi Arabia, Russia, and China, there’s nothing at all. Think of it this way: 500,000 dead in Syria, forced starvation and mass torture in North Korea, systematic and lethal oppression in Iran, gender apartheid in Saudi Arabia, and an elementary lack of basic freedoms affecting over a billion in Russia and China. But at the UN Human Rights Council, little democratic Israel is the problem. (Fox) Pray that USA President Trump will make a firm decision to remove his country from the UN Human Rights Council.

HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL IS NOW THE PRINCIPAL UN ENGINE OF BDS: The “Human Rights” Council is now the principal UN engine of “BDS” - the campaign to boycott, divest and sanction Israel. Economic strangulation is Plan B for Israel’s enemies, war and terrorism having so far failed to rid the world of a Jewish state. The Council has sponsored the creation of a blacklist of companies around the world ‘directly or indirectly’ doing business with Israeli settlements – in effect, Israel period. Make no mistake: there is no middle ground. Staying on the Council means American taxpayers will pay for the production of a blacklist of American companies doing business with Israel. The State Department representative told the Council that it will not provide information for the blacklist. But, of course, the UN will simply get what it wants from the Palestinian entourage. With predictable regularity, the subject of UN reform bubbles to the surface of this toxic environment. The ploy needs to be challenged head on. The only body that can change the Human Rights Council is the one that created it – the General Assembly, where the USA has one vote and Islamic states have 56. Less than half the members of the General Assembly are fully free democracies. The majority aren't going to create a club they can’t join. It is understandable why Council members like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Cuba and China want to masquerade as human rights authorities. But why would the United States want to legitimize this charade by standing beside them? (Fox)

USA HOUSE AND SENATE INTRODUCE BIPARTISAN BILLS AGAINST BOYCOTTS OF ISRAEL: Republican and Democratic leaders in both houses of Congress introduced legislation on 23 March 2017 that would penalize international governmental organizations and foreign countries seeking to boycott, divest and sanction the State of Israel for its handling of its conflict with the Palestinians. The bill would amend the Export Administration Act of 1979 to include in its prohibitions on boycotts against “allies of the United States” those fostered by NGOs against Israel. The bill also directs the USA Export-Import Bank to combat boycotts against the Jewish state. The bill states that USA policy will be to oppose last year’s UN Human Rights Council resolution “which urges countries to pressure their own companies to divest from, or break contracts with, Israel, and calls for the creation of a ‘blacklist’ of companies that either operate, or have business relations with, entities that operate beyond Israel’s 1949 armistice lines, including east Jerusalem,” it reads. If passed, the legislation would punish violators with a fine in accordance with the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The bill explicitly states that USA opposition to boycotts of Israel shall not be construed as an alteration of USA policy “concerning final-status issues associated with the Arab-Israeli conflict, including border delineation, that can only be resolved through direct negotiations between the parties.” (J.Post) Intercede that this important bill will pass. Many leaders of the BDS campaign, which was launched by Palestinian groups in 2005, have publicly affirmed that they seek Israel’s destruction. BDS co-founder Omar Barghouti said in 2014 that Palestinians have a right to “resistance by any means, including armed resistance,” while leading activist As’ad Abu Khalil acknowledged in 2012 that “the real aim of BDS is to bring down the state of Israel.”

Senior Hamas terrorist Mazen Fukaha was assassinated in the Gaza Strip on Friday 24 March 2017. The deadly incident took place in front of Fukaha’s home in Gaza City. The parties behind the assassination are unknown, said the Hamas-backed Interior Ministry, however, Hamas has officially accused Israel of carrying out the assassination. “Hamas and its fighting brigades place the full responsibility for this reprehensible crime on the Israeli occupation and its collaborators.” Hamas also threatened retaliation for Fukaha’s assassination. The Ezzeldin Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ armed wing, vowed it will exact revenge for Fukaha’s assassination. Fukaha, who was born and raised in Tubas, was a senior official in the Qassam Brigades, which carried out a number of suicide bombing attacks against Israel during the second intifada. An Israeli court sentenced Fukaha to life in prison for planning a suicide bombing in northern Israel in 2002 that left nine people dead and tens of other victims wounded. Nonetheless, Israel released Fukaha in 2011 as a part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner swap, but barred him from returning to Judea & Samaria. Since his release, Fukaha relocated to Gaza, where he has continued to play a key role in the Qassam Brigades. (J.Post)

ONE TERRORIST KILLED, 3 WOUNDED DURING ATTACK ON ISRAELI TOWN: A gang of five Arab terrorists attacked the Jewish town of Beit El in Samaria on 23 March 2017, hurling firebombs at the entrance to the community. The terrorists drove up to the entrance of Beit El in a car, exited the vehicle, and began throwing the firebombs towards the town. IDF soldiers stationed in Beit El quickly opened fire on the terrorists, who attempted to flee the scene. An army spokeswoman confirmed the attack and the IDF response, but declined to elaborate. "The suspects hurled firebombs towards the community," she said, adding that the soldiers returned fire. "Hits were confirmed." Sources in the Palestinian Authority claimed one terrorist was eliminated, while the other four were wounded. No casualties were reported in Beit El or among the soldiers stationed in the area. A security official in Beit El described the incident: “A Palestinian vehicle drove up with five passengers. They exited the vehicle and threw a number of firebombs, some of which went over Beit El’s security fence, some of which exploded outside of it, while others were unused and left whole, and were taken for investigation.” (Arutz-7) Please pray against terrorist attacks in all parts of Israel. May all intentions of the enemy continue to backfire.

PALESTINIANS, JORDANIANS AND ISRAELIS TEAM UP TO COMBAT EARTHQUAKE RISK: With the border area with Jordan at high risk for earthquakes, Israeli institutions have joined with the Jordanian Red Crescent and Hebron’s Greenland Association to train local residents as first responders in the event of such a catastrophe. The project, called “Community Emergency Response Teams,” was conceived by Ben-Gurion University, the EU and Magen David Adom. Limited access and rough terrain after an earthquake mean that rescue teams may take some time to arrive. This training gives residents tools to provide first aid, shelter and psycho-social support before professional rescue teams appear. Participants underwent a 100-hour course on subjects such as needs assessment, first aid, shelter, hygiene promotion, psycho-social support, search and rescue, firefighting and community resilience. Similar training took place simultaneously in Palestinian and Jordanian communities. First-response teams throughout the region will also be prepared to assist one another in case of an emergency.
