“These finalists emerged from a rigorous judging process and represent the best our industry produced this past year. Even more important is the impact these excellent books, Bibles, and resources are having on the church and wider culture,” Stan Jantz, ECPA’s executive director, said in a press release.
The CJSB is a Messianic Jewish Bible brought about by Rabbi Barry Rubin (President of the Messianic Jewish Communications Publishing house, and rabbi of Emmanuel Messianic Jewish Congregation in Baltimore, Maryland). It is a groundbreaking biblical work combining Dr. David Stern’s game-changing works, The Complete Jewish Bible, the Jewish New Testament and Jewish New Testament Commentary with vital commentary from Christian Theologians, the Talmud and major voices of Jewish thought over the past two thousand years.
The nomination of finalists occurred last month and included numerous categories. A few of which would be New Author, Young People’s Literature, ministry resources and Bibles.
The ECPA is an international non-profit trade organization with member companies that publish and distribute Christian resources all over the world. The ECPA states that the selected finalists for this year’s award are the best books and Bibles of the year.
Rabbi Rubin is ecstatic about this honor and shares his excitement, “The fact that a conservative Christian group like the ECPA is now fully recognizing and accepting the importance of understanding the Bible as a Jewish book, for Jews AND gentiles, as well, means more Jews will meet the Messiah and more Christians will meet the Jewish people.
